Day 3: Consumer Use

After we made Sulfur our new friend, we were strong enough as a group to be formed into something and used. I also found out that there are these REALLY things.. I don't know what they are called, but they have a lot of atoms in them. They are also what made us into what we are now. Even though I don't know our name, I know we are really important. We are round and roll this big metal box a bunch of places! It is so much fun to go really fast when the box is pushing us to make us go. Some of my friends are getting left on the hard surface that we are rubber against, but they are ok because they are making new friends with the other rubbed off molecules. 

We have been rolling the metal box for a long time now, and every one in a while the really big things (that I told you about earlier) like to rotate us. Kinda like a game we used to play back in the tree called musical atoms. But in the last game, they forgot to put us back on. We don't know why, but I guess we will follow along for the next part of our journey..

Day 2: Vulcanization

I WAS WRONG! My family and I have been moved from place to place! Mixed in with other families of rubber, separated from dear friends, and more horrific things that I can't bare to talk about! *sniffle* We are now in a dark chamber where you can't see anything, except know you are not alone because of the people that are inevitably touching you on every side. It seems like we have been in this cramped space for eternity! But wait.. I see a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel. And what is that strange smell..? What are those flames coming at us?! HELP!

When the flames reached us, it didn't hurt like I was expecting. All the flames did were make us warm and want to be closer together and increase our abilities or properties by acting as one. Also, we made a new friend!! His name is sulfur and he is really nice. The sulfur families were also really scared just like us, but actually helped us become even closer of a family and vise versa. Maybe this whole process isn't so bad..

Day 1: Tapping the Tree

Well it is me, rubber, like any other day, just hanging out in my friend the tree! So exciting! My friends and I are having so much fun bouncing off each other in our home the tree, but we are scared because we have heard horror stories about other trees getting brutally stabbed with a metal straw that steals all of the families of rubber living inside of them! We don't know what to do to protect our families. No worries though, because it could never happen to this tree.

Wait.. What is that?? Everyone, run!!!!! Don't let yourself get taken by the monster that wishes to kill us all!!!

I can't help it, I am sucked down the metal straw of doom and know, from the stories, that my fate is sealed. I will never see my family or friends again! But, oh wait, there they are.. and it doesn't seem to be that bad in this huge metal home. Maybe the stories were wrong and it will be just the same as before. We will just have to wait and see..
